Year 6 Transition

We have had such an enjoyable month throughout our Year 6 transition. Students and parents/carers have messaged us with very kind and lovely messages about how enjoyable the activities have been, children are certainly looking forward to September! Our Year 6 students started the transition with team-building exercises, getting to know each other, as we have students coming from over 18 primary schools, but also to get to know our Waseley staff and Waseley students. Students then explored our core subjects: English, Maths and Science, where they were confident with reading out loud, working in partners to read a text and review. Students enjoyed their maths problem-solving alongside science experiments to check if the results matched their predictions. We also have some very creative students who enjoyed the clay task and produced some wonderful pieces or artwork. We can also see that a lot of our Year 6s are a fan of sports, which was seen with their amazing rounders skills. We ended our transition with an assembly where every child received a certificate, along with small gifts from Waseley. We look forward to seeing our Year 6s in September and continue to work together positively.  To read more information about our Additional Transition events, please click on this link: Waseley Hills High School - Year 6 SEND Transition
