Wellbeing and Parental Support
Trauma Informed Schools

A trauma informed school is on that recognises the profound impact of adverse experiences on a child's development, wellbeing and ability to learn. By fostering emotionally safe, relational environments, trauma informed school ensure ever child feels seen, heard and supported.
TISUK – Trauma Informed Schools Uk- is a nationally renowned programme that enables training on trauma and mental health concerns in young people. Mrs Mcleod and Mrs Masters have recently undertaken training to gaining Diploma in Trauma and Mental Health –Informed Schools and Communities: Practitioner Status.
The training provided key insights into neuroscience of ill mental health, ACEs, psychology and responding to challenging behaviours alongside vital tools and knowledge to help respond, support and enable the child's narrative of painful life events.
At Waseley we are dedicated to embed this knowledge throughout all our practices over the coming academic year, enabling us to develop a whole school approach to wellbeing and being mentally healthy throughout our daily routines with the focus being on relational approaches.
Please contact Mrs Mcleod or Mrs Masters to find out more.
